Water utility key figures

The Water utility key figures tool compiles the basic information of all water utilities operating in Finland in 2018, selected key figures, and information on the quality and treatment of domestic water.
In the Water utility key figures tool, searches can be made by the municipality or the name of the water utility organisation. The tool provides information on the utility’s sector and mode of operation.
More detailed information is divided into two tabs. The first tab shows the volume of drinking water and wastewater produced by the utility, as well as the number of customers.
The same tab also presents comparison data on the following themes:
- specific water consumption (l/person/day)
- proportion of domestic water not billed for (%)
- proportion of wastewater not billed for (%)
- pipe breakages (number/100 km/year)
- metered charge (€/m³)
- production costs (total costs/sold water volume) (€/m³)
- total number of complaints about water quality (number/year)
The data are presented both for the selected water utility and as an average of all utilities. The amount of comparison data available depends on the type of utility.
On the second tab, it is possible to examine the number of water users served by the utility, raw water sources, and water treatment measures by water supply area. In addition, on the same tab, users can comprehensively follow the target levels for different variables, health-based quality requirements, and any quality deviations from these requirements for each water supply area.
