Local water situation

The Local water situation tool is a handy way of checking the local hydrological situation, wherever in Finland you happen to be.

The tool provides an overview of the water situation at the user’s location with seasonally varying themes. It also indicates if the values of different parameters are close to, higher or lower than their averages for the same period. The tool displays location data automatically for users who have allowed this function in their browsers.

In winter months, the tool provides information on snow load, snow depth, frost depth, ice thickness, groundwater level and water level.

In summer, it contains data on precipitation, surface water temperature, soil moisture, water level, groundwater level and runoff at the user’s location.
